By following federal regulations and guidelines described in nist 800-88, COM2 uses the most efficient certified data erasure software (3-pass, 7-pass, or greater) to permanently erase all data, and to render the hard drive clean. In addition, COM2 provides a log report showing all hard drives that have gone through the process.
For clients who require total elimination of any trace of the existence of data, COM2 offers physical destruction of hard drives, tapes, and other media, by means of a shredder. Hard drive shredding can be performed at any of COM2’s facilities, or on-site at your facility using our mobile hard drive shredders. COM2 provides certification of data destruction to its clients as proof of the work done.
Equipment arriving to COM2 warehouse goes through a first stage of triage, or discovery to quickly determine if it is candidate to be remarketed, or if it will see its demise and get recycled. Any it equipment deemed salvageable will be audited by COM2 technicians and prepared to be remarketed. COM2 offers two programs to its clients regarding marketable assets: straight buyout, or profit sharing. A COM2 sales agent can answer all questions regarding these approaches and what would be the best fit for each client’s operation.
Any equipment arriving to COM2 with the predetermination to be recycled will go to the recycling division without further evaluation. Equipment received without pre-requisition, will be triaged and evaluated. Based on a scale of conditions (such as age, condition, market value), if COM2 team finds the equipment to be obsolete, then such assets will be disposed of in accordance with laws and regulations, and with COM2’s zero landfill policy.
Upon request, COM2 provides each clients with userid and password to comtrack database, where each client can access the database to view various reports, such as inventory received, scheduling, audit reports, data destruction, or other metrics.
